Magazine: Rolling Stone Collectors Edition - BRUCE
Je n'ai pas vu de poste mentionnant cette sortie dispo sur Backstreets:
Magazine: Rolling Stone Collectors Edition - BRUCE
Code: MAGRSCOLLECTORSED
Price:$13.00
New from Rolling Stone is this whopping 122-page Collectors Edition, packed cover-to-cover with Springsteen features old and new. Thick and perfect bound, this is more like a book than a magazine, and one for the "keepers" shelf.
THE NEW
The centerpiece here is the 23-page cover story, "The 100 Greatest Songs." Voted on by a panel including Tom Morello, Edward Norton, Steve Van Zandt, Arcade Fire's Win Butler, Bruce author Peter Ames Carlin, and Backstreets' own Chris Phillips, the Top 100 is ranked and written about by Rolling Stone scribes as well as guests including Questlove and Jackson Browne. "Born to Run" leads the field; we'll let the rest be a surprise.
Other new content includes an introduction by Brian Hiatt; "20 Essential Shows," by Andy Greene; "The Wisdom of Bruce," a collection of Springsteen quotes on various subjects; and the 53-question "The Ultimate Springsteen Quiz." PLUS, they really went to town with the photography in this collection, with beautiful images from the likes of Kevin Masur, Barbara Pyle, Eric Meola, Frank Stefanko, Jim Marchese, Neal Preston, Herb Ritts, David Rose, David Gahr, Pam Springsteen, Geoffrey Robinson, Mark Seliger, Danny Clinch, A.M. Saddler, Jo Lopez, and more.
THE OLD
Oldies but goodies, certainly. With Bruce Springsteen: The Rolling Stone Files being long out of print, this Collectors Edition does a great service by gathering some classic Rolling Stone interview features in one place:
"One Last Chance to Make it Real" by John Rockwell (excerpted from RS 197, 10/9/75)
"Proving It All Night," by Dave Marsh (excerpted from RS 272, 8/24/78)
"Hungry Heart, Restless Soul" by Fred Schruers (excerpted from RS 336, 2/5/81)
"Glory Days" by Kurt Loder (excerpted from RS 436, 12/6/84)
"Lost in the USA" by James Henke (excerpted from RS 636, 8/6/92)
"Out of the Ruins" by Mark Binelli (excerpted from RS 903, 8/22/02)
"Hope and Dreams" by Jon Stewart (excerpted from RS 1153, 3/29/12)
Wenner Media Specials, September 2013. 122 pages.

Re: Magazine: Rolling Stone Collectors Edition - BRUCE
