"Bruce Springsteen played a private benefit show for Boston College at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Saturday night.
Springsteen's oldest son, Evan, attends Boston College.
Bruce Springsteen played a benefit show for Boston College at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Saturday night.
Springsteen, backed by a band which included E Streeters' Roy Bittan on keyboards and Max Weinberg on drums as well as Bobby Bandiera, played 25 songs over two hours and 35 minutes. There was a four-piece horn section.
Also joining in for a few songs was J.T. Bowen, the lead singer for Clarence Clemons' Red Bank Rockers from the 1980s. Bowen had played with Springsteen at the Wonder Bar on July 17.
Among those in attendance were N.J. Governor Chris Christie, actor Tim Robbins and NBC news anchor Brian Williams.
The show began at 8:10 p.m.

Bruce told a story about meeting some fans from Sweden over the summer at the Wonder Bar. The fans told him they traveled to see Asbury Park and to see him.

Bruce told the crowd he wrote this song six blocks from here in an abandoned beauty parlor on Cookman and Main avenues in Asbury Park.
5. Spirit In the Night
Bruce went out into the crowd and jumped on the front bar.

9. A Woman's Got the Power (with J.T. Bowen)

"634-5789" & "Seven Nights To Rock" sont régulièrement jouées au Stone Pony lors de concerts de charité, d'ailleurs "Seven Nights To Rock" fut jouée 1 ou 2 fois seulement en concert avant le Stade de France 2003, c'était justement au Stone Pony deux mois avant.
2h35', 25 chansons, effectivement, en forme toujours ! Content que Bobby était de la partie, ça devait être bien fun et rien que du fun.

oui, setlist classique pour le genre "concert pour l'école des p'tits"
le dernier remontait au 29 janvier, il y avait alors eu "Gotta Get That Feeling" et "Save My Love" en soutien à The Promise et qui faisait un peu figure de nouveauté

Max (interviewé ce matin),a déclaré que pendant "10th Ave", le groupe s'est arrêté de manière impromptu au moment du solo de sax, remplacé par le public qui l'a chanté spontanément.

Les images (photos y compris) de ces concerts (les concerts de charités pour les écoles/universités de la famille Springsteen/Scialfia) ont toujours été très-très rares. C'est tout à fait possible que rien ne sorte.

Et elles font vraiment plaisir à voir. Il est rayonnant notre bonhomme. Et la qualité est pas mauvaise tant visuelle que sonore.

Et puis, ça fait du bien d'avoir un peu d'actualité concrète en dehors des rumeurs, espoirs, etc. des deux derniers mois. Ca rend peut-être un peu plus impatient, mais ça donne moins envie de trépigner.

Pour les deux concerts de Pittsburgh de ces jours-ci, il y aurait des vidéos, du son, des photos.. par contre, pour ce qui est du concert "benefit" pour le Boston College, ça risque d'être moins simple
