Book Descrïption
For more than 30 years, Tom Petty has been writing and performing hit songs and rock and roll classics. He has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. His music has been the soundtrack to the lives of millions of people who grew up in the '70s, '80s and '90s. This celebratory, personal volume includes hundreds of photographs many never-before-published as well as a selection of memorabilia from Petty's personal archives, all of which help to illustrate the songwriter's own descrïption of his amazing life and career. Publication of this book coincides with the theatrical release of a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers film documentary by Peter Bogdanovich and a four disc DVD/CD set. The fall of 2007 belongs to Tom Petty.

About the Author
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers released their debut album in 1976. Petty has received numerous prestigious awards, including 16 Grammy nominations and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Petty was also a member of the supergroup the Traveling Wilburys, along with Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, and Roy Orbison. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' 2006 tour was one of their most successful ever. Tom Petty lives in Los Angeles.

=====================================

SAX AND VIOLINS:

Damn the Torpedoes:

Tom Petty TomPetty%26theHeartbreakersDamntheTorpedoes

Pack up the Plantation:

Tom Petty Tom_Petty_-_Pack_up_the_Plantation_Live%21

Manquent "I Need To Know" et "You Got Lucky" pour que les deux LP tiennent sur 1 CD. Dommage, You Got Lucky est une mes morceaux préférés!

Southern Accents, produit par Dave Stewart d'Eurythmics mais de très beaux morceaux comme le morceaux-titre, prepris par Johnny Cash, et Rebel ("one foot on the pedal, on foot in the grave/ I was born a rebel")

Tom Petty 200px-TomPetty-SouthernAccents

et je rajouterais bien ce Traveling Wilburys

Tom Petty 200px-TravWilb1Cover

FIFI:

côté dvd officiel, le "live at the filmore 99" est indispensable

FIFI:

t'as mille fois raison jc!!!!

Tophenko

Into the great wide open me parait être également un superbe album pour commencer, avec les 2 tubes Learning to fly et la chanson titre.
La prod est typique de Jeff Lynne.

JC

malgré la production de Dave Stewart et le single "don't come around here no more", j'aime bien l'album "southern accent".

sax and violins

I won't back down
Free fallin'
Runnin down a dream

http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=thIMfTaWSpY

Bill Horton

My own two cents...

A suivre...

Darlington

JC

Tom Petty !nuts
Quel groupe, quand même!
Merci pour cette interview et cette info.

GREAT WIDE OPEN TOUR

sonic boom

Emmylou Harris a l'Olympia
Les Stray Cats au Grand Rex
Les Blacks Crows à l'Elysée Montmartre

fartman

....................

C'est parti avec "Nightwatchman" et "A Woman In Love (It's Not Me)" tirés de concerts à L.A. en juin 1981 lors du HARD PROMISES Tour.

Plein de photos dispo, des articles de presse d'époque, des commentaires audio de Tom et de sa bande sur l'enregistrement des chansons, le clip de "A Woman In Love" (déjà dispo sur le DVD PLAYBACK et le Laser Disc A BUNCH OF VIDEOS AND SOM OTHER STUFF).

Passionnant !!!

"I'm A Man", "It's Good To Be King", "Mary Jane's Last Dance", "Runnin' Down A Dream" & "Southern Accents" sur le DVD du concert du 21 septembre 2006 à Gainesville sur le coffret RUNNIN' DOWN A DREAM.

"Dreamville" & "Like A Diamond" sur le DVD LIVE AT THE OLYMPIC (2003)

"I'd Like To Love You Baby" & "Born In Chicago" sur le DVD SOUNDSTAGE (2003)

Je soupçonne "I Just Want To Make Love To You" d'être la même version que sur le CD Single "It's Good To Be King" (1995) et "Square One" celle qu'on trouvait sur le CD Single "Saving Grace" (2006).

1. "Here Comes My Girl" (1979)
2. "Refugee" (1979)
3. "The Waiting" (1981)
4. "A Woman in Love (It's Not Me)" (1981)
5. "Insider" (1981)
6. "You Got Lucky" (1982)
7. "Change of Heart" (1982)
8. "Don't Come Around Here No More" (1985)
9. "Jammin' Me" (1987)
10. "I Won't Back Down" (1989)
11. "Runnin' Down A Dream" (1989)
12. "Free Fallin'" (1989)
13. "A Face in the Crowd" (1990)
14. "Yer So Bad" (1990)
15. "Learning to Fly" (1991)
16. "Into the Great Wide Open" (1991)
17. "Mary Jane's Last Dance" (1993)

Quel panard !!!

Ainsi qu'un CD bonus 5 titres de même qualité où ils reprennent notamment "Should I Stay Or Should I Go".

================================================================

THE BROADCAST ARCHIVES - CLASSIC PERFORMANCES

LIVE USA 2003 & LIVE IN CHICAGO

LIVE ON AIR
A priori celui-ci contient quelques raretés, non publiées ailleurs, comme “A One Story Town” ou "Kings Road".

RARE BROADCASTS

The waiting is the hardest part...
